Pupil Premium

Isaiah 41:10 of the Bible

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

At Egerton Church of England Primary School, we have high aspirations and ambitions for all of our children and we believe that no child should be left behind. We are determined to ensure that all of our children are given every chance to reach their full potential and be able to live ‘life in all its fullness.’

What is Pupil Premium?

‘The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.’ (DFE Website)

The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 and is allocated to schools to work with pupils who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years. Schools also receive funding for children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months, and children of service personnel.

Either the headteacher, Mrs Julia Walker, or the SENCO, Mrs Gill Morrissey, are also available for a confidential meeting where she can offer further advice as to what you may be eligible for and how the pupil premium funding could help your child.

Our Pupil Premium Strategy has been developed using published documents such as The Sutton Trust - EEF Teaching and Learning Toolkit.

Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
